There Remain Three Major Issues

1. Animated gifs play one or two frames and then stop.

2. Non-YouTube videos still don’t play (or even appear in the feed as playable videos).

3. The image cache must be constantly cleared in order for all the images to properly appear in the feed. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the size or number of images in the cache, because I’ve had to clear it when the cache is 100+ MB and just as often when it’s under 5MB.

These issues haven’t been fixed in the current version OR the upcoming Version 3.

I tried going back to (the new) NetNewsReader, but it has its own issues. I still curse the day Google gave up on RSS.
